Whats the deal with everyone doing these projector retrofits? Whats the advantage? Why not just aftermarket HID's?

Light output, cutoff, reduced glare, color, even distribution of light, no hotspots... there are many advantages to using projectors MEANT for HIDs. Look for pictures of retrofits.. HIDPlanet.com .. check that out.

 

95-gsr said it nicely. Once you realize the benifits of a oem hid retrofit, you'll see the light. About 100X better that is. A "kit" will never give you the desired output from a halogen projector, just wasn't designed for it.
