Metals Technology. class that i am taking
so far its a pretty neat class. we have 3 projects to do. and if we get those done, we can bring in things of our own and get extra credit. its a 4 credit course that hopefully i can Ace.
we have to make chisels, a tool tray, and some thing called a BS grinder. all it does is rotate.
course description "Introduction to metal layout, cutting, machining, forming, fabricating, finishing processes, and current technologies including composite materials. Experience in oxyacetylene and arc welding, sheet metals, bench metals, heat-treatment, and foundrywork."

sounds pretty sweet man. im taking a class called metal fabrication at Ohio State its a 5 hour and it deals with all types of arc welding (well the usuals, mig, tig etc.) along with oxycetaline, forging. only prob is we have more projects and wont have much time at all to make stuff we want to make
but in all i think they both will be nice. good luck and show us what u make in class

If you're going to Ohio State, I'd reccomend you considering the welding engineering program. They have one of few in the country, and have a good reputation. With a degree from there, you can likely start right out of school at $50-75K yearly. If I were closer, I'd be all over it.
