Default question about rods and crank

i have eagle b18c1 rods and just got a crv block and crank...could i use these rods with the b20b crank or will that not work...i have the b20b rods still and i guess if i have to i will get them shotpeened and balanced, but i hate to waste my eagles...

about the crank, is it worth it to get it micropolished and balanced...car isnt going to go above 8500rpm very often so is there any benefit to this at all...

You need the LS rods. B18C rods wont work.
Get some eagle rods and get the crank balanced.

Just get them balanced and replace the rod bolts with ARPs.
But when you replace the rod bolts you need to check to make sure the
bore is still round.

Adam, contrary to what Clubber Lang just told you, I think your best option would be to go with Eagle rods. I know you're gonna do some serious power mods to this motor, so you might as well just get the Eagle LS rods.

I wouldn't balance the crank either. I've had two cranks done to over 10,000rpm and both were within spec, according to the machine shop. I think Honda does an excellent job of balancing their cranks.

If you're worried about the integrity of the bottom end, install bearings on the tighter end of the tolerances specified in the Helms and install a Z10 girdle.

Good luck.

Oh, BTW... if you're back in FL again, I will have my Hondata Stage 4 later this week... lemme know if you need help tuning.
