ive got a 98 ls auto with 105k on it. it has a comptech header, high flow cat, rsr exhaust, denso plugs, ngk wires, and cai. the main problem with the car now is that it is an auto and i would like to make it into a manual since the auto eats up a lot of power the trans swap would do more than any bolt on for the money. i know people would say to just sell it and buy a gsr manual but i like to work on my car and am probably goin to do this myself. im not sure if i should get the trans now with the gsr manual ecu and get the engine later on when it blows or if i should just buy it all at once and swap the whole thing together. im pretty sure the gsr ecu and trans should be compatible with my b18b. im not sure of where to get a used relaible engine or trans cause this will be my daily driver and i dont need to put all of this time and $ into my car and have it flop on me and i cant get to school or work. im pretty sure i could do the work with some extensive searching but if anyone has any comments or ideas on where to get the parts let me know.
