Dunlop SP Sport W-10 vs. Pirelli P6000
I haven't heard much about either of these tires. Do any of you guys have these tires? At $73 and $80 from Tirerack, they are priced competitively. Like everyone else, I'm looking for a tire to replace my retired re010's in the spring, and I'm wondering if these tires are good enough to sway me from buying some Azenis.
w10 are decent tires... they were cheap when they came out. however, if i recall, 15" azenis are around 65 per tire, so i'd go with the azenis instead
my impression of the w10 is that the sidewall is not stiff enough... it's pretty good in the rain... but i think the compound isn't good after a year or so... after a year, it seems the compound hardens up quite a bit and it's simply not as grippy and hydroplanes in the rain much easier... for a tire with only medium grip, i find its noise level a bit high
but as i said, if i were to choose now, i'd go with the azenis

I've heard mediocre reviews about the P7000, so I ruled out that tire. But I hadn't heard much about the P6000. I will not put a tire on my R that isn't at least the equal of the re010, and I'd much prefer to put a better tire on. If it can do occasional double-duty as a weekend track day tire, then that's gravy. If it's cheap like the Azenis, then that's also a plus. I'm pretty much set on the Azenis, but wondered if the Dunlop Sport W-10 or the P6000 were comparable. Any more opinions?
I am on my second set of W-10's and have no complaints about them. I cannot give you a comparison since I have had this wheel and tire combo even before my ITR arrived. If you want a good street/track tire you'll have to pay big $$. My suggestion is to get another set of rims, track or street use and buy some R-compound tires, Kuhmo's are the most cost effective for the track and get some good tires for the street that will last. The W-10's lasted me about 33k miles until cords showed and tirerack sells them at a good price but I found a local tire shop that got them for a couple dollars more so I actually saved money since I did not have to pay for shipping. The next tire I'll try are the Kuhmo street tires since I really like their race rubber. The Kuhmos use the same carcass. Good luck and check out the tirerack web site as it will answer all your questions.

I have w-10's. on 2 vehicles. I like them very much. What ive noticed the more they wear the better they are in the dry it seemed. I dont push any tire in the rain at all. when I wore out my re010's they still grip well in the dry to a certain extent. I feel you cant have both a super grip tire in the dry that will last forever. You have to compromise performance for wear. I will buy a 3rd set of w-10's if I can still find them. I used to run 15'' falken grb and the ziek 502 and toyo fz4 all 195/55/15 and 205/50/15 and they all sucked. The dunlop w-10 didnt dissappoint me after break in. That new falken people rave about the azeni looks like it works but I still have a sour taste in my mouth with the old falkens on my R.
