Default !!!!!!!!!Problem for Ef

okay here's my story... i was driving last night to minneapolis and on my way there, i was crusing at about 50 - 55 maybe 2700 rpm in 5th gear and all of a sudden i noticed that the more i gave it gas it didnt really move any faster so i turned the radio and heat off for a second to see if i could hear anything andout of no where my motor cut off for a second (sounded like it skipped a notch on the timing belt) but kept running. my problem is now it has a little bit of a knock, at an idle it drops below the average rpm, roughly 350 - 400 rpm. it doesnt knock too bad at an idle, but if you give it a little gas than knocks a little more.
the timing belt is a little loose ( i got out and checked it last night, does this problem sound like i could have slipped timing wise?> any help would be appriciated!!

well its not that hard to check if the timing belts off so start checking things... This really doesnt give us any clues. Its like saying my car cutoff for a sec, still runs now, but doesnt run good.

It could have been so many things. Give us more details nad we will be able to help...

Check timing, and you might want to replace timing belt. My integra did the samething. After about a hour of driving the belt broke.

Check your distributor. I had similar symptoms when the bearing was failing, but it stopped running altogether.

Maybe something stupid like a plug wire came loose??

Well, i might think i can solve your problem??? Your problems sounded very similar to what i experience. I was stumped and didnt know what else to do. Ok, under your driver dash there is a master relay, thats about 4in. brown or black in color, there is about maybe 10-12 lines on a plug and it says master relay. Mine acutally went out on the freeway and i was stranded and had to get it towed. I trouble shot everything that i could think off. Try testing it out with a buddy who has an EF. Hope this helps.
