Si rack and pinion on STD hatch...any benifits? Is it a direct fit?
Just wondering if there is any benifit of puting a Si rack on a STD hatch? I heard the STD/DX rack and pinnion is easy and faster? But I heard the Si is more stable at higher speeds cause its harder? I dunno....help me out. Whats the diff betweent the two? Can I just buy a whole new rack and pinnion for a Si and just unbolt the std one and slap the Si one in?
yeh bushing is broke on the pass side. When lifted up on jack stands it has more resistance when turning right. So basicaly it has a busted bushing binding or bent rod in the rack. It needs a whole new rack. The A arms and everything is straight. The car was recently on the frame rack to check all the points. So its in the steering rack for sure.
For autox, I believe the upgrade is the hf rack.
Dunno about for hwy stability tho.

according to the honda dealer brag thing for the 89 crx, the si has a variable ratio steering gear so it feels more sporty driving it. I have one with new tie rods on it(out of my old car) and my tie rods are shot, so i'm switching it over, it is a direct fit. however, if it costs more, why bother.
