Default dx or si tranny

my si transmission is about to take a **** as its making quite a bit of noise in high rpms, so i have this dx transmission in my backyard. Should i just go ahead and swap it ? i mean i want power and all, but since the dx is sitting there, i might as well right? or should i get a job and save for another si transmission. I still want decent power tho .
my question is , how much whould it effect my time in the 1/4th mile?

my **** whined before, didn't cause any problems. My problems started when it would start popping out of gear.

try some 0w30 mobil1 synthetic, sounds like one of your bearings in the tranny going bad, or it's just dry, have you checked the oil, you should be able to use the bearings out of the dx tranny. If you have tried the oil thing and that did not work, replace that tranny quick. Otherwise it is going to scatter.
