Default 4th gen traction issues.

so yeah as title says....my traction completely sucks @ss.....i launched today @ 2,000 rpms, and my 1st just spun completely, shifted into 2nd and spun completely, and then it finally caught on 3rd...now i know im not launching that high, and i got brand new tires (deltas ) and that can be a porblem, but what are some stuff that i can do to help me get some better launches w/o spending too much right now...

skunk 2 coilovers with oem shocks and a resonable front camber kit, and motor mounts inserts, which helped some....

Blown shocks, likely crappy tires, clutch.

Drag radials on the front dampened shocks all around.

i got shitty traction too when I launch. the other day, I dropped in at around 2k rpm and my tires were spinning crazy through first so I popped it in second, still no traction. later i smelled my clutch burning. does that mean my clutch is slipping and or is in bad shape? I have had the car for about 20k now and dont know how many miles are on the clutch or even what kind of clutch it is. I also learned how to drive stick on my car when I first bought it used. after my clucth burned, it felt softer for some reason. anyways, I have some brand new generic negotiator tires, and some tien ss. my only other suspension mod is a rear tie bar. the cheapo tires might explain the lack of traction, but they are brand new and whats up with my clutch burning? dont jump the gun and say its my driving b/c I've raced many times before and dropping 1st gear in at 2k rpm is nothing. my two questions are what should I do about the clutch and what else can I do to improve my traction w/out buying new tires to replcae my brand new tires?

Does it still spin like crazy if you feather the clutch?

well its pretty obvious its your tires. blown/stock shocks would create issues with wheelhop.. motor mount inserts help with wheelhop but will just make the traction issue worse.. the bucking motion that would have been created by wheelhop now mostly goes straight to the tires.. more energy transfer to the tires=worse traction..

basically get some nice tires and a limited slip.. thats pretty much all you can do!

I don't know how you have some shitty traction...when I'm at 250fwhp (5psi) I can spin through first but I won't spin that bad in 2nd...usually by 2nd my tires catch.

I was thinking the same thing...he's maybe at 150whp in that h23 and his tires are spinning???

I think he maybe not seeing it, but his clutch may be slipping and he is mistaking it as spinning tires...

with the power he has..he would have to be running the baldest tires ever to spin all the way through second.

I remember when I first had my car out b4 tires I was running crap RE92s @215whp...now THAT'S spinning through first and second
