95' Accord RAdiator Leaks
I searched the forum (only a little, to be honest, heh) and didn't find too much so i thought i'd ask. go ahead with the flames and RTFM's if i'm asking somehting obvious..
I've got a 95' Accord 4dr LX 4cyc automatic. I opened the hood a few days back and noticed coolant is leaking from the top of the radiator, at every seam along the outside edge. yikes. I checked and double checked the hose and cap and thats not the source of the leak, i'm almost positive its the radiator its self. All along the outside top edge are little folded down metal tabs, and thats where the fuild is comming out.
I've got a couple of questions, knowing nothing about hondas.
1.Is it new radiator time, or do i not really understand where this leak is comming from?
2.Is this a commom issue? (the car only has 75K on it and its been well taken care of)
3.Where might i find radiator replacement how-to's and coolant system diagnoses tpye info?
The engine compartment is so open compared to my other car that pulling this thing out and dropping in a new radiator looks like a piece of cake..
Thank guys. oh, and hi! i'm new :D

Bah, don't worry about the "You're a moron, ever heard of searching" flamers out there.
1. Yup. Sounds like its radiator time, however, I would investigate the matter a little more thoroughly, but it sounds like its cracked somewhere up top.
2. It’s not as much a common occurrence as it is sometimes things just break. As much as all of us love Honda Motor Company, LLC, and despite the fact that in my eyes they can do almost no wrong, they still cut corners (like everyone else). A cheap radiator is a cheap radiator.
3. Here's the best piece of advice I can give you. GET A FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL.
Especially if you want to tinker. I have one for my 91 and my wife's 00. It will show you explosion diagrams of the entire vehicle and walk you through most everything in terms of service specifications. (Keep in mind they don't hold your hand as they do expect some knowledge.) As far as the radiator goes, it's really is as easy as it looks in the Accord.
I'm new too, and bored as hell tonight...

1: it's radiator time// it does leak between the plastic tank & the aluminum core just d/t the vibrations/age of car...
2: saw this same thing on dodge/mitsubishi/nissan/chevy (family's cars)
I went w/ an online supply company that price matched competitor's ended w/ $89 shipped to my doorstep & carries a lifetime warranty! total metal radiator too!
3: i got by w/ the hayne's manual since I don't have $$$ for the Factory service manual (helms) i also "rented" a coolant pressure tester for free @ a local parts store (ie pepboys/advance auto parts/ autozone). i think autozone.com has an online manual that's similar to the hayne's paperback manual
yup, it was simple to replace; basically since these cars also had V6 engine options as well...helpful tools were pb blaster for the rusty bolts from the electrical fans to the radiator & an offset boxend wrench to open the air bleeder valve...

aren't the top metal parts supposed to leak for overflow and all that crap? i had the same problem and what happened is that the Water Pump seal is broken, this is not a problem anymore, cuz i just got the engine swapped out. but i had the same symptoms.
