Final Thoughts?
Hey I am looking at swaping a d16a6 (this is the motor out of the 88-91 crx si's right???) into my 89 hf. It is to my understanding that the hf's already have the mpfi so i don't need to convert that. I have made a list of the stuff i think that io will need.
1) A motor out of a 88-91 crx si
2) The ecu out of a 88-91 crx si
3) A new clutch (I know its not neccasary but i want a new one, mine slips)
I live in hagerstown, not a huge metropolis, so how much you think i could get the motor and ecu for. Do i just replace the hf ecu with the si ecu. Lastly is the wiring just plug and play, or am i going to have to do some wiring work? thank you
p.s. "do a search" is not a valid reply

a buddy of mine had a si motor and blew it up and put an hf in that his uncle had lying around at his shop in it and had no wiring probleoms. So it should work the opposite way.
It's not a question of can you but more would you want to, would you want axles that are made for a 68 hp engine or would you want axles made 106 hp engine to go with your Si.

hey why not just get a D16z6 and convert ur car to obd1.. i'm from hagerstown too, me and some friends have a garage and do swaps and such out of.... we've done a few cars like urs that we have converted to obd1 and put vtec motors in
If you want to use an Si or DX transmission, you'll want to swap to DX/Si axles - which means swapping the hubs as well, since the HF hub won't take DX or Si axles. If you're just using the HF tranny for now, the HF hubs and axles should be fine. The extra power might wear out the lighter HF axles quicker, but I don't think you'll be snapping axles at every stoplight.
