Koni Yellow/stock springs/lower perch
Anybody used lower spring perch positions on Koni Yellows? Is there enough travel left to not always bottom out using the stock springs.
Do not want to use coil-overs. Whats ur thoughts?

I dug this up from the grave.
I have the same question though and ask only because I plan on getting the Koni Yellows sometime this summer (used) and would like to know how the perches work. Meaning how many settings are there? I have stock springs now and don't really care for a much harsher ride, but the front is slightly higher than the rear and it annoys me.
If I could just drop the front 1/2" or so that would make the car sit perfectly level. I am not opposed to getting some GC's, but I don't want/need rates that are super stiff. This is my daily after all.
If thats not possible, what would you do in my situation? Also, would the Koni's at their softest setting be more comfortable than the stock shocks?

I believe the circlip lcoations on the Konis are around 1" apart, which would translate to about a 1.5" lowering.
Softest setting is probably more appropriate, but they're adjustable shocks so take the time to tune them to your car and personal preference. Start off full soft, drive and get used to it. Adjust front slightly stiffer, test drive, and keep repeating until it feels "too stiff". Then back off slightly, and move on to the rear.
FWIW- I ran stock ITR springs on Koni yellows on the lowest perch on my GSR sedan for a month- it would definitely bottom out on the highway over big rolling bumps.

The Neuspeed edition Koni Sports (SP3 I believe, not to be confused with the more expensive race valved SPSS3) have 5 perches instead of the regular Koni Sport 3 perches. Might give you the fine tuning you are looking for with stock springs. The middle perch on all Konis is stock height.
I have also heard from a Koni rep that at their softest setting the Sports are softer than OEM shocks.
Thanks for that tip tronic, those sound like they would definitely do the trick. But then I have to wonder how much more they would cost compared to the regular yellow's, I would imagine that the Neuspeed Koni's are considerably more expensive new and probably alot harder to find used. So unless a super deal comes along, I might as well go with the regular yellow's and some ground controls.

"tip tronic" is that a play on words?
In that situation I would just get the ground controls w/ the spring rates I want. Set your height, get an alignment, your done!
