Having brake booster problems and I need some help PLEASE!!!!
Ok so I have a feeling my brakes arent getting pressure bc of the brake booster. But I was looking at the intake manifold today and the hose going into was easy to pull out except for the gluw stuff the person before me put on it... is that hose supp to be tight and if i recoat the glue substace will it poss fix the problem?

First explain the problem you are having, because a brake booster does not have anything to do with the pressure in the lines.

As 90blackcrx said, the booster will have nothing to do with the pressure in your brake lines. On the hose you are talking about being loose, I would put a clamp on it to secure it. What specific troubles are you having braking?
the problem is that when I brake the pedal goes to the floor- the car still brakes fine but it just feels like there no medium in braking, your either slowing down real slow or your stoping on a dime...we bled the lines and nothin really chnaged so we think that its the booster- the guy i got it from said the shop that put the brakes on and the motor in said if aftr the lines are bled if nothing changes its the brake booster... i dont know i just dont feel like taking it off and replacing it and im hoping there is just a leak somewhere

It's probably more your master cylinder than your booster
I had a bad master cylinder when I pulled it and found the line to my rear brakes were clogged

Agree with Mugen...it's probably your m/c, if you can't find any links any where. Not having personal experience with it, but I'm sure someone can confirm that when the booster is bad, you can't push the pedal to the floor because it becomes very hard to push. I'd almost bet my rex on it that its not your booster.

He said he bled the brakes, so it is not air in the lines. I had one of the problems you have. While standing still at a red light, I could slowly push the brake petal to the floor, I replaced my master cylinder, problem gone. While the m/c is off, you might as well check for clogs in the lines and bleed the brakes again.
Like everyone else, it is mostly likely not the booster.

Yeah I know, I can read. But if he thinks its really the booster, I don't think he really knows his way around a car, so he might not of bled them good enough. Bleed them again.

I was giving him the benefit of the doubt that he knows how to bleed the brakes (it is simple to do). He got the idea that it is the brake booster from a shop, and like you said might not know much about brakes.
Do this, secure the hose you were talking about with a clamp. Double check to see if it is secure. Then, make sure you bled the brakes correctly, heres a how-to...http://www.fourthgenhatch.com/brakebleeding.html. If you did it incorrectly, do it again. If you continue to have the problem after you secured the hose and bled the brakes correctly, I would change the master cylinder.

Yeah but over many years I have realized you always gotta look at the simplest solution and not give anyone the benefit of the doubt anymore. Customers will always come in, say yeah its blah blah part, I look at the part and its find, turns out its something else.
Make sure you bleed them in order and just do it 2 more times just to be on the safe side, no sense of running out, buying part after part then finding out it was a simple solution.

listen i know what yall are sayin but first off i didnt bleed the brakes myself it was done by someone that deff does know what they are doing and ive been told by several people that it is the brake booster bc we have tried all the simple solutions except a new MC.... soo im goin to clamp that hose tomm and bleed them againa and see what happens
The brake booster function is only for driver comfort and simplicity. If you had a 1955 ford coupe w/ standard brakes going 55mph, it would take you both feet on the peddle and whole lot a runway to stop. Not because there's less pressure, but because the brakes are harder to apply without the help of a brakebooster. Don't condemn the master cylinder until you check the lines. Take some break fluid and keep applying the breaks until you find the leak. Bleeding the brakes get rid of that spongey break pedal, but wont fix a leak. Some more info and im sure i can tell you what the problem is.

Ok so bleeding the brakes should not be the problems but its not your brake booster. Here take the hose off of the brake booster and go for a ride, that is what a broken brake booster will feel like.

Definately master cylinder.
To test the booster, just press the brake pedal over and over with the car off. With a few pumps, the pedal should be very firm.

hey not for nothin but if ur car has drum brakes check ur wheel cylinders if they are sticking. also pull the check valve out of booster and stick a zip tie in the hole for the check valve and see if u are getting fluid past the check valve
ok ill tell you exactly whats happening as best i can...you are right when i press the pedal down when the car is off a coouple times it gets hard...when the car is on an im riding around (before he bleeded the brakes) the pedal would literally suck down to the ground..i would have to take my foot and pull it back up... then we bled the brakes and it seemed alil better but if i push down on the pedal at all it wants to go to the floor and stop really hard...the car also revs up to about 3k sometimes wheni tap the brakes...maybe thats alil bit more helpful of a descrition
Do you hear any kind of whistling noise when u hit the pedal? Have someone listen for leaks near the booster. You could have a leak in one of the vacuum lines. Just a thought....
man i get the same problem, i just had my rear calipers replaced because one of them or bolth was stuck and the dude at the shop said i have a vaccume leak in my BB so i check all the symptoms and the pedal gets hard when i pump with the car off and its squishy when its ideling rpms go up when i press on the pedal ...i got a new bb for free so im gonna change it and see if that was the problem i hope its not my m/c but if it is i can get a new one of those cheap also
i dunno man
oh and i have a crx repair manual if you need it... lemme know
