F23 tranny on H22
I still have the stock H23 tranny on my prelude...I didn't change over to the H22 tranny for the swap. So ive been looking at getting a new transmission, either H22 or F23. Seems like the H22 is a bit hard to come by and around $800 for one with ~75,000 miles. F23's are cheaper and I've heard about the longer gearing, which could work well with my H22 since its turbo.
Anyone have anything I should know or any recommendations, let me know. Thx

Well, I think that the F22 tranny will allow you to boost longer than the H22 or H23 tranny. Since your plans are going turbocharging, I think the F22 is the better choice with longer gearing.
Shorting gearing will put you through the power band quicker, meaning your in and out...time to shift.

there is quite a bit more difference than you think. there are even a difference between the f22a1 and f22b1 and f22b2 ttrannys, also the f23 are going to be different because the power of the f23 engine and redline are different not to mention the weight of the vehicle that they are in is vastly different, all these things come into play when honda designs a trannys gear ratios.
to sum not all f22 trannys are the same nor are the f23 sismiliar to the f22
