yeah same thing with my car. idk what it is, im starting to to think it's my clutch or syncros. Sometimes it bugs the **** out of me when im driving. Im gettin my swap soon so i don't care any more. I'll let you know what it is if i ever find out
Hey i was driving a 1991 hatch that did that too. You had to stand up on the clutch to start the car . The clutch would only engage if it was totally against the back wall. Check your linkage make sure nothings in the way if its only certain gear it should be an external tranny prob.

if the clutch is in fact only one month old i would bleed the system and change the MTF. it is a good start.

i read this often here. the clutch is engaged when the pedal is up. When the clutch is engaged, the release bearing is moved away from the diaphragm spring's release fingers. As the spring pivots over the fulcrum ring, its outer rim forces the pressure plate tightly against the clutch disc. At this point the clutch disc is clamped between the flywheel and pressure plate.
when you push the clutch pedal down, you disengage the clutch. if you where having problems starting is sounds more like a clutch saftey switch problem than a clutch problem itself.
