Default valve adjustment while engine is still warm

hi guys,

I just wanted to get your input on this. The landlord at my apartment complex wont let me work on my car anymore, so that means I have to take it in to the shop to get any kind of work done. Now since I dont want to leave my car at the shop overnight to let the engine cool I wanted to know if I could do this. I just wanted to know if I would be ok adjusting the valves after driving the car into the shop. The drive is only about 15 miles, and if I drive there after leting my car sit all night would I be ok?

If I'm doing it while the engine is still warm what specs whould I use for my intake and exhaust clearance?

This is for a stock GSR in my CRX. I would ask thi in the Teg forum, but it seems like those guys are slow to answer my questions.

so what do you guys think?

there are no specs for it warm, do it cold, better yet move so you can work on your car at home

By the time you get to the shop, the clearances will have changed. ONLY adjust your valves when cold.

So there's no way to make up for it by setting my clearances tighter or looser?

I'm sure if you could measure the temperature of the rockers/valve heads as well as cross sectional area of both, you could calculate thermal expansion for them...but no, this has never been spec'd out.

n/m I just got a brainstorm and Ive figured out what to do. I'll just do it at the parking lot at work. By the time I'm done at work, the engine will be stone cold. I'll just do it then.

Sounds like a plan.

why not drop your car off in the morning & pick it up later in the day?
