Newbe here,

I just bought a 1995 Accord EX coupe for my daughter. It had a motor exchange done two years ago and I saw the receipt for motor $1050.00 labor $900.00. It''s an automatic.

My Question is: When these motor swaps are done, do they ussually come with a replacement tranny attached or do they use the old one?

Just want to know if the tranny may have been replaced with the motor. The young lady that I bought it from doesn't know enough about cars to answer the question.

hard to tell is it a dohc motor or single cam more info needed please

 

judging by the cost, you probably got both a new motor and tranny.....though the motor would have most likely been out of a front clip from a crashed USDM accord, so it wasnt really "new"....the only way that i can think of to know for sure is to check the VIN on both the block and the tranny...if they match up, then they were both installed together

 

I doubt that the tranny was swapped. I've seen people pay $1800 for a used motor.
