Default 4 speed to a 5 speed.

What would I need to swap a 4 speed to a 5 speed transmission on my 92 hatchback?

You have a 4 speed in your 92? Thats wierd, I thought they quit the 5 speed after 91. Well in that case i think you need a 5 speed tranny. One out of a 92 ex or 93 del sol si will work fine.

I have heard that I need new axels, because the diameter of the 4spd is smaller than that of the 5spd.

You sound like you know a ton of information with your one post. Maybe the guy doesnt have the money to afford a swap like some of us on here.

I already have a tranny, I was just wondering what else I need. So the spindles are different?

if the 4 speed axles will fit the 5 speed tranny you are golden, but if you need to go to 5 speed axles, if you have a civic STD you will need to swap to dx or si spindles. same as if you swap to a b16. i think 4 speed axles are 28mm? where 5 speed are 30mm. PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG.
