Default 86 and 89-91 suspension compatible

i tried to search but i guess i couldnt word it right for the search results. i'm more in the eg+ forum so this may be a n00b question for you guys.

i'm looking at getting a 86 civic hatch and first thing to be done is struts and springs. only problem is i'm not seeing much besides gr2s, tokico blues, stock, and illuminas for the 84-87 civics. i'd like illuminas but theyre 380 on ebay. you pay less then that for a 5th gen civic. and i noticed the 4th civics have more of an aftermarket suspension-wise. question: is there a way to get 4th gen struts and/or springs to fit on 3rd gen (?) civics? anyone have any ideas if 4th gen stuff wont work?
thanks and sorry again for a possible n00b question

i dont know if it will work or not, but the 84-87s are torsion bar in front and solid axle in the back so it could be difficult,,, i would try looking for pre 89 integra as they also use torsion bars and solid axle.

the sus can be modified on the 86 to make it a handling beast.

My setup includes tokico blues all around and ground control coilover sleeves in the rear. Upper front and rear strut bars to finish it up. Very basic but it works like a charm.

those chassis have been used in many types of racing, rather competively,

try this link, then do a google search lots of info to be found on these cars.

you can get the 1g crx to handle great and have a blast with it, but theres no way any of the suspension is similar between the two models. its completely different, both front and back. and probably nothing youve ever been exposed to coming from EG experience. if you have in mind to swap suspension, look elsewhere.

http://Nopi.com has anything suspension wise you need from Tokico 5 ways to bushings and rear springs. http://Hasport .com also has larger torsion bars which will improve handling and allow you to lower it as much as needed
