Default what is a good size turbo to make 400h.p.?

i have a built ls turbo and my t3/t4 just went on me. so what i am wondering is if a regular t3 will make 350-400 h.p. on my ls? or do i need to get another t3/t4 thanks.

what t3/t4 do you have? is just shaft play? or total destruction? think about a rebuild, but take it somewhere good if you do.

most t3's will run out up top.. especially if you rev higher then stock because your built..

otherwise the precision SC series turbos are popular these days

average t3 (60 trim) is only supportive of 300hp (maybe a tad bit more), but it will die out up top.

Question is where do you want this 400WHP in your band realistically?

gt35 supports about 510 flywheel horsepower, maybe a tadbit more if you choose the 76mm compressor wheel( you are talking non ball bearing right?)

I would go for the Precision Turbo SC32 for 400whp.

Has your engine been sleeved or just pistons/rods?

if sleeved get SC61 and supporting mods for 500-550hp.. 400 hp on a fully built motor is like buying a Athlon 64 4000+ for surfing the internet.. alot of wasted potental

if not rebuild your t3/t4 and turn the boost up

you are assuming, of course, that he wants a 550hp lag monster right?

rebuild the t3/t4 then..

the whole lag thing is just what guys with little turbos use to make themselves feel better

lol, i like a little lag, but not as much as the sc61 has. t3/t04e is perfect for me, but its gonna be ball bearing, so what lag?

Will an SC50 work for 400whp and stay with a B series powerband (8200 rpms)?

I LOVE my SC61 on my LS, but if you wanna be a little more conservative and still make the power you want, with a nice powerband, I would reccomend and SC44...

I love Precision turbos!!!!

i made 400whp with a sc44 on my stock bore b16. spools up great. power curve is still going UP at 9500rpm too.

might kinda be stretching it with that turbo...like i said SC32 should do the trick, but you may have to step it up to like an SC34 to give ya little bit of breathing room.
