need help wiring up my syncro 180
i need my cord to be longer on my Syncrowave 180. i need about a 25 foot cord. in the manual it says i can use 8/3 wire and it can be 147 feet long. i want to make about a 40 foot cord. so i went to home depot and lowes and their 8/3 is rated to 40 amps. the 6/3 is rated to 55. the breaker i am using is 60 amps. should i use 6/3 or 8/3? also, all the plugs i have found are only rated to 50 amps. will they work fine for 60 amps? if not, what can i get? heres what my book says
input voltage - 208-230
max fuse or circuit breaker - time delay - 60
- normal operating - 80
min input conductor size in AWG - 8
Max input conductor length - 147 ft.
min grounding conductor size in AWG - 8

yeah you will be fine with 8/3, you are only going like 45 feet or so with it , another thing when they rate that stuff for cords and breakers , that is what it will draw at full out put so welding all they way up for a period of time , , so hook it up and have fun with it
