CRX DX b16 Swap wiring?
i have a DX CRX i ordered a B16 swap that came with the a PR3 ECU and
the stock JDM Harness with all sensors. the engine is complete with all sensors and harness.
Can I use this harness on my CRX or do i have to get an Si Harness?
I also need to know what location of the 4 vtec wires is.
so that i can do it. this is my first crx and swap i never drove the crx i bought as a sheell it didnt have the stock DX engine harness it had the computer thougt.
This stock JDM harness is clean i want to use it.

I have never heard of anyone using the JDM harness. I believe only the SI or HF harness will work. The stock JDM harness will also most likely come cut all to hell. Does the shell have the wiring from the ecu to the engine bay still intact?

Exactly..
And add the extra wiring for the VTEC..
And if you look in the FAQ topics at the top of this forum,
There are several links provided for this..
Been there,done that..

the harness is in perferct conditon belive it or not.
it has cuts whatsover that is why i wanted use it.
i have i think i have a an Si harness laying arround i think its an SI because it has 4 injector connectors.
it came from a dude using a b16 on a 89 hatch will that one work?
I do have a wires coming from the ECU thru the firewall on both sides
i guess i do have to do the dual to MPFI swap or can i use the Si harness i have laying around, i think it is an SI an Si harness because the connects on both sides of the connectors comming thru the firewall.
I do not have a the DX engine harness.
what do i need to do?
thanks for the help guys

dude, i tried to do that, its such a ******* nightmare.
please dont do it. if its from a 91 or 92 jdm car, you wont be able to get the colors for a lot of the wires, since the only vtec supplement floating around only goes up to 1990, so unless you haev friends in dealerships in japan to get the 91 vtec supplement, just do a MPFI swap on your DX harness.
its not that hard. then run the 4 wires for vtec and oil pressure knock and 2nd o2 sensor.
the thing is, even if it has the main plugs at the firewall still atached, they wont line up with the ones in your car anyway. so it saves you NO time to use it. nothing matches up, if you use your dx harness, a lot fo the stuff stays the same, so thats the real time saver right there.
i blew up an ecu trying to be a hardass, and for what? the usdm harnsess has most of it anyway, plus no mystery colors.
EDIT reading owns me. if you dont have the dx harness, use the si one, and watch the color at the firewall, thats your best bet.

So since i dont have a DX harness but, have a An SI harness.
Do i still have to do the DPI-> MPFI thing?
what exactly do you do when doing the DPFI to MPFI swap thing.?
I hope that all i have do is use the Si HF harness.

Listen to doublethink, use your current harness. I've got the same setup and it works like a dream.
(1) do the dpfi to mpfi conversion. It's very easy only four wires. You will need a resistor box for this, any 90-91 integra or 90-91 civic SI will do.

(2) Next, do the vtec wiring.

If you just use the link on 2 you will be set. This is easy, just take your time.

just use ur dx harness.. there are tons of threads on how to do mpfi conversion.. takes like 15 minutes to do.. that way u can run ur old dx harness, just wired up vtec oil, sol, knock, and 2nd o2.. dont even bother using that jdm harness.. stick it on ebay and make some money off it..

Honestly, looking what you are saying, I would get someone that knows what they are doing to do all the wiring for you. You mess that up, and it can take forever to fix it. I did my MPFI conversion myself. its not that hard, but you have to make sure you get the right directions to do it. I used the ones off http://www.thezcr.com Work fine for me. You will have to depin wires from your ecu. You will also need an si ecu to make sure everything is working and an si distributor. I wouldn't suggest you trying to wiring the whole swap and the MPFI at the same time. Get the MPFI done first, drive the car to make sure everything works, then go for the swap. But, If I was you, PAY SOMEONE TO WIRE IT UP FOR YOU. you didn't even know what MPFI was.
Yes, you must find another dx harness. I offer the mpfi swap as an option on my site. You need to find a dx harness though.

So i can't use the Si harness i would have to find a DX harness?
like i said before the Si harness was on a 88 hatch with a b16
i dont even know if its an SI harness the thing i know is that it has 4 injector connectors.

always use the harness that came with your car and modify it to fit the new setup.
if you plug in an si harness (does it even plug in?) into a dx it will NOT work. Honda was not that nice.

YES!
Just because it was used to wire up a b16 doesn't mean it will just plug into your car and work.

any one got a DX harness? i need it bad!
EVERYONE Thanks for the help i really apriciate it.
NO really i do thank you all for the help.
So im gonna need a resistor box and a DX harness
Can i use any resistor box or does it have to be a specific one.?
thank you all

any resistor box out of a obd0 car. 87-90 itegra, older prelude, 88-91 civic si, ex, hf. Try a junk yard. It is usually located nea the firewall on the drivers side. or you can find someone selling one. I would pay more then $5-10 for it.
i have a 91 crx dx harness that was wired up for the b16 swap then i wrecked the car and got a crx hfand swapped the motors so i used the hf harness now i have a dx vtec harness just sitting here email if youare interested
