I need to pick up a starter and a alternator for my engine build/ swap but the parts I want to buy are OBDIIB (00' Civic Si). The car is a 1996 EK and I will be modifying the factory harness for swap.
Engine:
OBDI 95' LS block
OBDI B16 head
I will be purchasing a:
00' Si alternator
00' Si starter
Will either parts have to be manipulated or will there be a wiring problem using those two OBDIIB parts? If so, please explain what I can do OR please link me to something I might have missed.
Thanks guys, sale pending on this information.

Any b-series starter should work and I believe you will need an obd2 alternator to use with the obd2 harness. I believe the alternator plug is different between obd1 and obd2. A & B shouldn't matter. Hopefully somebody else will chime in and make sure this info is correct

Thanks for your response, I kinda figured on the starter, but better safe than sorry. The bigger concern is with the A vs B as you stated. Thanks again.

I really don't think the a & b makes a difference in the harness for teh alternator. Try doing a search on part numbers for an alternator @ http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com for a 96 civic ex and and 99 civic ex to see if the part numbers are the same

I didn't think anything about that. Thanks again!
