Anyone put a crx dash in a civic hb?
I have a 89 civic hatchback DX. No interior. I picked up a crx dash, it all bolts in, but the wiring for the dash doesnt fit the civic. The crx plugs dont go into the civic fuse box. What did you guys do?? Do i use the civic harness, and mod the plugs?
Any help?? I want to get the helms ETM, but i would need one for the crx, one for the civic.
Let me know. Any help is appreciated.

I figured it out. I used the civic harness. I removed all the pins from the guage cluster plugs, then plugged them in like the CRX. Everything works perfectly now. Just need to figure out what plug is the defroster, and what plug is the hazard plug and im set.
Any ideas?

Thanks for the help. I searched, havent found what i needed.
Ya, it does look really good. The wiring is thorough, not as difficult as some things i have done, but without a manual, it takes some time.
I have everything working so far, except for the defroster and hazard. The plugs are different, and there is different amount of wires for the hazard so it makes it tough.. PLUS i dont know what plug is actually for the defroster or hazard. ahaha.. I might go to a junkyard and look at a civic so i can see what plug is actually for the hazard and what not.

the only issue I ran into was that the dashboard from a 91 is further out than the 88 hb dash, so the plugs for the defrost, dimmer, etc are really tight making working with it difficult... but it all works, otherwise.
Also the wiring for the clock in the center is already there even in an 88 STD. They just have it plugged into a plastic "dead clip." It's all in tact and plugs right in and works. I <3 Honda
The final issue you'll hit is that the dashboard will only bolt in in 3 places. The bottom bolt behind the center console will not reach because the CRX dash is more "laid back" than the flat HB one. It hard as a rock with 3 bolts so it's no problem.
I'm still using an 89 Si Cluster/Pod (i hate it, it looks bad on the 91 dash)
And no shift boot (boo)

I'm converting the interior over to black (obviously) and already have the black ebrake console, finishing the front technically.

Hmmmm....for some reason I can't remember swapping harnesses with mine, but then again it went so smoothly. I put a 91 crx dash in my 90 civic. Any more questions beside the harness, and I might be able to answer them for ya.
there is no harness change needed or should there be any problems with pugs IF and ONLY IF you used the correct year dash. 88-89crx in 88-89 hatch and 90-91 crx in 90-91 hatch. also the dash bolts everywhere EXACTLY IF and OnLY IF you use the appropriate year dash. hope this helps...
