Default 98 and up accord transmission problem --please vote and give me an idea

How many people own a 98 and up accord and how many of those having automatic transmision issue ?

I am getting a 99 Accord LX with 90K for my dad and is very worry about the transmission issue...I already made the deposit and suppose to pick up the car this weekend too...

Honda said 2% with issue but I would like to find out what the ratio is ...

Thank you

99 EX 4-cyl AT. No transmission problems... roughly 140,000 miles. I do the regular maintenance, but I also don't take it easy on the car.

I'm on my second transmission and they just replaced the connectoin from the shifter to the transmission itself...cable i believe?

My extended warranty and the tranny problems are past 2 grand, at no expense to me. Thank God for those...

2000 Accord SE, 4 door auto.

I hope not... well, actually, I do... it would just be the final reason for me to do a manual conversion.

You have a manual though...the autos are the ones with the problems. I've taken very good care of my car and it turned the auto fluid into liquid poo in less than 10k miles...

The topic does not specify AT/MT.

AT sucks in too many ways.

i have a 2001 4cyl LX A/T and i blew it at about 65k miles, i guess thats what i get for having a heavy foot...luckily, it was still under warranty and honda replaced it for free. it started off with little things like slow, lagging shifts. then it led to a little bit of grinding. then out of nowhere it just went out on me, it wouldnt shift into second gear and would just rev like it was in neutral. too bad honda wouldnt replace it with a manual

When my car was still an auto it ran great no problems. Even the first time I put the turbo kit on it for about 6 months. It only started to give me problems when I got really cray with the power. It was a 99" accord 4cyl. I can also say taht when working at honda we stocked trannys for the 4cyl and V6 accords and odyssey. The 4 cyl have there problems, but the V6's are def. worse. Just take care of it and you SHOULD be ok. If its the original and has had no problems and been well maintained the it should last a long time.

So why do the cars prior to 98 have no transmission problem? Was it a new transmission config in 98? I have 116,000 on my 97 and the auto is as good as new. Knock wood.

Because the people who don't have problems don't have to come on here to complain about it...

This would be a better poll if it said 'automatic transmissions only' or something because the manuals will mess up the scale cause theyre ******* bulletproof...
