Ok, so the hood release cable broke, so what's the easiest way to get the hood open? I'm not sure if it broke under the dash or under the hood cuz it's my sister-in-law's car and she called me from out of town. Oh, it's an 89 CRX by the way.

 

If its broken under the dash, just pull the cable with some plyers. If not stop by either the Honda dealer or a body shop.

 

ahh i hate this problem, its probly not broken just loose. i think you need to take the bumper off and put it back in place, then push down on the hood to open... thats how mine is, I cant pop my hood by myself

You dont have to take the bumper off, you can access the cable through the front with a pair of pliers and pull the cable to the left and it will pop the hood

 

Thanks guys... I'm hoping the cable just came off the little bracket, so I don't have to buy a new one.

 

lol,aww old memories.i usesd to have to open my door hold the latch and bang on the hood whal leaning over more door.sorry but that just kinda made me laugh
