Alright, I have a miata now, and the headlight assemblies from my old integra. I was planning to go from the stock setup, which flips up all crazy high

to something that looks like this

by retrofitting my integra projectors into the miata housings.
Anyways, here's how I plan to do it, please comment.
To get the light to open up part way, I was either going to fab up a new arm that is shorter than stock so that the light only opens part way, or just redrilling the arms so the pivot point is further down the arm. Which way would be better?
To actually mount the lights, I was planning on using aluminum that I would bend and cut and drill to accept the integra headlights. Question, how thick should the aluminum be so that the headlights are secure, but no so thick that I can't bend it easily? Should I even use aluminum?
To protect the lights, should I attempt to hack up the clear housing on the integra light housing? Or should I use a piece of plexiglass or acryllic? Would using something like that affect the beam pattern too much?
Thanks for looking and leave some feedback, positive or negative

what all miata parts do you have?
I need a headlight switch (the one on the steering column)
also need a the plastic pieced piece that you take off to get to the gauges

With a shorter arm, wouldnt the motor keep trying to advance the headlight upward/downward and get jammed? What controls the distance the motor spins to make the lights go up or down? Or is it just when it "feels" the end of arm length stop, it stops actuating?

I think it is a resistance motor, A buddy of mine had a miata and some teeth or something on one of hi sheadlight assembleys wsas going out, so it would stumble to open unless you were going down the road at a high rate of speed. But you could hear the motor keep going until the light was all the way up.
