Will 96 DX catback exhaust fit a b16a swap?????
quick questions guys. my friend has a 96 4dr civic w/ a b16a swap. he needs a catback exhaust system but its only made for the 96-00 sedan DX. Will this system fit his b16a swap? if not, whats the difference. Thanks!!!!
From what I know it won't, the exhaust manifold is longer than you sohc and the flange is flipped around. You best option is to get a can and then have someone custom you an exhaust.
you buy the exhaust to fit the car, not the motor. if he's running his stock exhaust right now, then he should be able to replace it with an exhaust designed to fit his car. most aftermarket exhaust use the same size piping for most of their honda applications (60mm, or 2.25")

cat backs don't hook up to the exhaust manifold, they hook up to the cat. i have a 93 CX with an exhaust made for a 93 si, with a b16 header and stock EG cat. everything bolts up.

No, because the DX piping reaches all the way up to where the exhaust mani ends since the cat is integrated with it, and it has those big holes for spring bolts instead of a flat tri-bolt flange for bolting into a cat like on an Si. He'll need an Si cat, and an Si exhaust. Best bet for a cat would be a high-flow one for a couple hundred because the stock ones cost $1100 at a stealership, and junkyards can't legally sell them.
