Passenger Side Airbag explosion

Has anyone witnessed the front passenger side airbag go off in an accident (in cpes)? Is it normal for it to break through the front windshield?

yes. its supposed to knock the windshield up and away from your head.

It usually breaks the front windshield when it deplys as in cracks it etc, but it usually doesn't push through it.
