And a 4G63 Block isn't the lightest block either.

was that car on cynder blocks. if you hand a lift you could drop the motor right to the floor, undo the mounts and raise the car. the engine stays right on the ground. This can also be done with a set of jacks in the front with the front tires off. that way though you may need a few blocks to reach the ground with the oil pan.

smarter not harder

haha 2point2, it is. And yes the 4G63 block is extemely heavy with the crank, rods, and pistons all in it. I dont have a hoist because i have no room for it in my tiny 900sq ft shop. We are getting built onto sometime in the future so then ill have room for one.

The car is on blocks so its easier to work on the body.. i havent driven that car in over a year.

You could fit an engine hoist in there, I've seen people with 1 car storage garages fit a car and use a hoist.

I know i can FIT a hoist in my shop.. but i dont feel like having it sit around all the time since i rarely do engine pulls like this.

and that manifold i made i ended up sellin to a guy in Iowa and it just barely fit hah.

I once pulled an engine out by disassembling.....what a pita.
Why dont you get a collapsible engine hoist. Thats what I have hear at the shop and its takes up exactly 3' x 2.5' of floor space.....not bad at all and fairly inexpensive.

Doing a bseries in an eg,ek, or integra is quite easy that way. Sometimes using the host on them gets to be more of pain.

ive taken out a b series by taking off the head first then lifting the tranny and then the block all by hand all by myself all by lifting out and over the car. i dont think i would ever put it together that way though. props to putting in an iron block by that way lol
