Default Engine Swap ?

more questions? I have a b16a engine that I want to put in my 89 hatch back dx the b16a engine is a vtec with the mpfi and I was told it came from a 91 CRX now the question is if i get a wiring harness from a 91 crx si and a computer from a 91 crx si or Code PR3 and just do an entire harness and computer swap will this work?

Thanks in advance

The motor comes from a jdm or edm sir crx..not a usdm 91 si..

Use your stock dx harness..Convert it to mpfi and add 4 wires in the harness for vtec...Either learn about it and do it yourself or send your engine harness to someone and let them make it a dx>sir harness,,
Hondatech member droppedcrxsi makes them..Blown90hatch ,,hasport.com,etc..

And use the pr3 ecu..since that the correct ecu for a b16 sir1 motor to begin with..

1. The b16a came from the JDM crx/civic siR.

2. You need either the PR3 ECU for the b16 to work correctly, because of the vtec. If you use the SI one, you'll always be throwing a check engine.

3. A wiring harness from a 91 SI should work, it sounds good to me. You would just need to run I believe 2 vtec wires and a secondary o2 wire to the ECU, and you're set. Search for more info. EDIT: above idea is probably better though.

edit: beat me to it!
