Default Super 60 T3 non-internally gated?

is there such a thing or could i build one? Is there a similar turbo thats non internally gated. I want super quick spool times which is why im sticking with a straight T3.

spool wont be that much faster. on a stock b16 with a .63ar 60trim t3 expect to see 10psi by 4500rpmish

all t3's have internal wastegates, but there are 3bolts and a rod and you can take it off, but you will have to use a different downpipe flange (just standard 5 bolt, but w/ no wg hole)

i ran a 60/48 on my b17 and loved it. had AWESOME spool time, but started to fall off aorund 7000-7500, but the most fun ever. i upgraded to a t3t4 57 trim ball bearing .63 ar...much faster, but not as fun. highway fun. you will love the 60/63

I have a B18B1 with GSR tranny so i think the spool time will be slightly quicker than a B16 but not by much im guessing. I was under the impression i could reach full boost before 4K with the super 60 T3? Maybe im mistaken but dont T3/T4's usually fully spool at 4500?

So all straight T3's are internally gated so my only option is to take off the 3 bolts and rod and weld the flapper shut and run a straight 5 bolt DP?

MY ls wont be rev'd past 7K max, usually shift at 6200 so the 60/48 might be fine. I want something thats gonna be amazing for the street . My goal is 300whp aswell just to put that in.

have to run external wastegate, if you can call that a disadvantage

well, i've heardthat a standard .63a/r 60 trim makes 10psi by about 4500rpm on a stock b16

so u think like 4K would be a good estimate on a stock LS?

I was hoping to have full boost by like 3-3500 with a 3" DP and tubular manifold

sounds about right, remember tho, that was in 1st gear. you'll make boost sooner in the other gears

the bigger A/r housing wont make much of a difference with such a small turbine wheel. I install stg 1 wheeled T3s all the time and I can barely tell between the 2 housings. Obviously it will help but it will be so minor that its not worth more than a few bucks IMO. I think you are doing your engine an injustice by using that turbine. A stg 2 wheel or even a stg 3 wheel in a .48 would give you some really nice spool times but not flatten out before redline.

I dont know what you mean by 'full boost' but if you use the stg 1 i think you should be able to make 10+psi by 3K very easily with proper tuning and hardware. I make that on my D16 with a 2.5" DP - cat - ext setup (.63 and 50 trim T3). That turbo is the SMALLEST i will ever put on my d16 and i'm only at 230ish WHP. Your idea of 'amazing' on the street may be differnt, but I think you need a little bigger turbo to make 300whp and feel amazing. remember your car is FWD so early spool in 1st 2nd and 3rd is gonna suck at 300whp. bigger turbine = traction control & broader powerband... ughh, what a horrible rant, oh well

well the B18b doesnt really make power above 6500 so i think i should be fine as long as it doesnt "choke" before that. Does the super 60 T3 from cheapturbo.com come with a stage1 or what?

I know ill prolly have traction issues with such a quick spooling turbo but i wanna be able to pull away hard from 2nd all the way to 5th and not look back.

If you think the super 60 T3 is too small for my car could you recommend a turbo that would "do my engine justice" .

Thanks
