I recently bought a 96 Coupe that has tokico blue struts with Skunk2 springs (NOT coilovers!!)
I also have a set of GC (300f/225r) that have been sitting around for awhile...
My question: Which set up is better??
1. Skunk2 springs on the Tokico blues
or
2. GC (300f/225r) on the Tokico blues
I plan on getting the Omnis eventually, I just need to get by with what I have (one of the 2 above) for now..
Thanks
Alfred

by sheer virtue of the fact that the ground controls give you a chance to change ride height, i'd use the ground controls. Alot of lowering springs (though your springs may not drop the car too much) don't allow most shocks enough travel to properly function. I'd imagine that the blues aren't impressing anyone with their ride quality/damping properties, but if your S2 springs lower the car more than say 1.5", i'd go with the GC's and ride em a little high. then again, the Skunk 2's are probably softer than the GC's, so they might ride nicer on the blues. It's hard to say, but i think 300 #/" is probably in the upper limit of what the blues are valved to damp.
omnipowers are good, but you've already got half of what is probably the most popoular suspension on this website, the good ol, tried and true GC + Koni Yellow setup that does alot of people right.
if you want to spend the money on a full coilover setup, i understand, but if you're looking for a very capable suspension setup GC+KY will work just fine.

What is the 'official' name of the Koni Yellows? Is it Koni Sport? I'd prefer to use what I have if possible and if it is as good or better than the full coilover setup...
Thanks again

Damn!! Just saw the prices on the Koni Sprorts!
$146 each? thats close to $600 for the struts alone....
Lol, well, how are the KYB AGX adjustable struts? would they be a good choice for the GC as well?
Anyone know where to get the Koni Sports cheaper?

There are several sponsors on H-T and other places online (ebay?) that have them for cheaper. You could also keep an eye out for used ones, I was able to get a set of partially used Koni coilovers with springs and hardware (pieced them together with Lee's help) for about $450 total. Just keep an eye on the classifieds and the sponsor's marketplace.
As for the AGX, they are better than the blues, but they only keep their warranty if you do not drop your car more than 1.5". They are adjustable though, and they can be a good low budget solution if you can't afford Koni Yellows.
