Default Pics of my s2000 antenna installation

here are pics of my newly installed s2000 antenna from locustom i won off of ebay, for closer lookup visit the webpage: http://www.cardomain.com/id/8000rpm

The finished product...

As you can see there are 2 connections here, the black piece and another wire off to the right side dangling with black eletric tape on it, don't know where this plugs into??? any help, i am also not getting any am reception, could this be the problem???

Here is the plug pulled from the original metal antenna, i also eletric taped it.

Here are the other 2 connection to the antenna base, just right behind my hand...
so in total there are 4 connections, but as you can see I could only find 3...please help need am reception. i also plan on putting some silicone to seal out water and moister that i can barely feel seeping through the hole. thanx

alright. From your second picture It looks like you plugged the antenna cable in, correct? and that small black cable is probobally a ground wire. The other wires are the positive, remote wire, and a ground. You should just be able to tap into those on the new antenna.

It looks like the antenna sticks out to the side a little bit? Is there maybe a way you could rotate it in so it leans backwards or something. It looks kinda silly the way it is...

i did my best because the base was short and had a hard time positioning to strap it onto the car and besides the base does not fit tightly enough b/c i could feel water seeping through slowly. i know it looks silly but as long as it does it's job, i am ok. that extra wire that's dangling in the second pic with black tape around it belongs to am reception i think but where the hell is am reception plug??? thanx

if you retained the old base from the existing antenna, it works out perfectly. Mine turned out near flawless

it also looks like you didnt use the rubber fitting around the hole--which would explain your moisture/leaking problem

That looks crooked as ****...

Here is mine...I think yours just sticks too far to the left instead of being straight up and down or even leaned back a little. Try messing with the beveled (sp) thing the antenna sits on.

Is this a functional mod, or is it one of those 'Let see how many S2000 parts I can cram on my Accord'? Seriously, because if it improves reception that's cool. But if not, that's one of the more stupid ways to spend your money. And its not like it improves the look of your car IMO

Edit: VR, yours looks hella clean. That actually looks good Still, wouldn't waste my money if its not functional

Yep and if by functional you mean weight reduction...why yes it is lighter and I don't have to put up with that antenna motor going with no mast with it because the mast/motor of the accord is removed. As far as increasing radio reception, I get just as equal reception with this stubby one as I did with my sailboat mast.

Nice 5th gen wheels on the accord. Looks great! The Antenna blends with the body as well.

Does anybody sell a s2k setup for a 5th gen instead of me making my own?

I wanted to do this conversion, but looking at your pictures makes me think against it.

The conversion looks good if done properly. Or, rather if the antenna is placed properly.
