Default Red/Amber 96-98 tails? Ambering out the clear?

I know it's a lame chop, but I was thinking about buying 96-98 OEM tails and painting the clear part amber with some clear amber paint...

Some examples and I can take down the Si if you want...sorry to chop on your car but it was a nice pic, and props to your car and new wheels.

I personally think the stock 99-00 lights look fine. When I had a 97 civic, I put in stock red and clears from a 99-00. If you do try it, make sure and post the pics. I'd like to see how it turns out.

Just get the 96-98 tails and keep them how they are, they are better than the red/cleer ones

A.) It looks like ****.
B.) You'd have no reverse lights. (I know here in MA you'd get failed at inspection)
C.) Quit ******* around w/ the tail lights already and move onto something more productive.

I think it'd look pretty cool with some light layers of transparent amber, nothing opaque like your chop, just a nice light amber tint to the clear part. btw it's your car, and since you already voted, just go along with the decision you voted for.

BTW the Si had 96-98 tails on it but i photoshopped over the amber that was already present to go for a uniform color, but we all know it didn't turn out well...I can see that the Amber looks very good on EBP

If i painted my stock tails with stained glass transparent red paint, how can I get this off?

It won't look right up close. Leave them how they are and call it a day.

you know the funny thing is that i was looking at the back of a 350z in traffic today and thought that it might look pretty clean if somebody tried it on the back bumper lenses (reverse lights).. however those same 3 ideas came to my mind, not in any particular order
