Questions about Oil light and oil pressure sensor
Ok, freshly built b16 and oil light has not always been on. 100 miles on the engine and the oil light came on after some high rpm's, slowed down to an idle and oil light went away. Last night I was driving through town and the light came on again and I pulled over and cut it off and it still stays on while driving. Ive put more thatn 30 seconds (when its supposed to blow if the pump is bad) while driving and VTEC does still work. Im not talking about the VTEC oil pressure im talking about the oil pressure sensor on the back of the block. My question is, why did it go off when I came up my STEEP driveway and then came back on when leveled out. Also will a d-series sensor work on a b16?
It is sensing low oil pressure. When you go up your driveway I am guessing the oil is away from the pickup and therefore not seeing any oil. Make sure you oil pan is not dented and also make sure the pickup is low enough in the pan to always have oil.
