is it alright for me to put b series motors into a 2002 civic lx since its a d17?

 

thats actually down grading...if your planning on doing a swap your supposed to put a k series

 

just put a k series

 

I don't think there are any mount kits or wireing conversion harnesses to put a B-series engine into your car, if that's what you're asking.

 

Technically speaking you could probably put a b-series on a go-kart, or in any car for that matter, just depends on how deep your wallet is!

 

Import tuner magazine put a b18 in that car and ran 160+MPH at the boneville salt flats. If they can do it why cant you?

It can be done, just real the top of the page, your car also isn't an EG.

how is it downgrading? don't the 02 sohc vtec motors have 127 hp only, while b series are 160 -&gt; and dohc?

Older motor i guess... I think its illegal or something to put an older motor in your car.

I'd like to know as well.

 

He lives in CA, I've been here 2 months and all Ive seen said about CA is what ****'s they are on emissions/motor regulations, he probably got busted when he went in for an emissions test and some tightass, by the book inspector called him on it.
