Anouncment - S2000 FIA Homoligated / Certified Weld in Roll Cage Kits are Available now!
unless you are an official sponsor for honda-tech, this is gonna get you in trouble
$819.00 shipped eh?
That sounds like a pretty good deal, BUT, what are the specs of it? What material are they made from ? Wall thickness? How many mounting points? Can you retain the soft top?
Do you have the vehicle specific information available?
If these are made to spec and will pass the CCR for SCCA, NASA, etc...this could be a great thing.

Ask your local scrutineer if you want but the SCCA and NASA know that certified and tested cage is good thing and the rulebooks do allow FIA cages.
Tubing thickness does not mater as long as the cage has a certificate and stickers (those come with the kit) the scrutineer has what they need to issue a vehicle logbook.
This is a ten point minimum cage and you can keep your soft top if you wish.

FIA cages are only legal for rally, not road racing. In addition, there is no provision in the SCCA Club Racing rules for allowing FIA cages.

Ohhh your right... I just went back over the rules just now and yuo are correct EauRouge.
I guess I always thought if SCCA rally was good with FIA cages that the GCR was cool with it as well.
That's so dumb of the SCCA, FIA cage designs are tested before the certification is given. Talk to your scrutineer or your local BOD or even national BOD.

From the NASA rulebook:
15.6 Roll Cage
(See diagram at end of section)
15.6.1 Purpose
The basic purpose of the roll cage is to protect the occupant in case of a rollover or a
collision. It must be able to withstand the weight of the car landing on the roof. These
rules apply to all classes, unless otherwise superseded by the class rules. Vehicles
homologated by, or built to the specifications of, SCCA, IMSA, and Grand AM must
conform to these rules, or may conform to their respective current class rules for roll
cage requirements. It is the responsibility of the driver to have these (non-NASA) rules
in his/her possession.
Looks to me that NASA is at least resonable on this one. FIA cage kit will work for you guys as long as you get a NASA Log book.
