Default Brake Proportioning Valve Differences

Here is what I have - LX Sedan that originally came with rear drums w/ 3030 proportioning valve.

Here is what I have from a CRX (Unknown) - 1725.

What is the difference if there is any between the two valves other then their numbers? Is one better then the other?

There was a pretty informative thread about this a while back. Let me see if I can find it.

From my thread back in October we determined that -
17/25 - Rear Drums 88-91 Civic/CRX
20/40 - 90-91 CRX Si
30/30 - ????
30/40 - ????
40/35 - Prelude
40/40 - Integra

But where the heck does the 3030 come from? Was it a Sedan option to compensate for more weight or what?

i just recently picked up brakes off of a DA and the prop valve that came from that car was an automatic and the prop valve says 30/30 on it, but it also looked like it has been taken off already before i got there...so i dont know if it was a 30/30 because it was automatic or becuase someone wanted the 40/40 that was in there? not sure

My car was a manual so that still doesn't explain the rogue valve, but for it to show up in an Integra is rather odd.

I have found the 30/30 valve also in a stock 88 wagon and a 35/40 in a 92 integra automatic. I would like to know what the numbers mean also. Is it the amount of pressure that is let through each port, and if it is then the 30/30 and the 40/40 would have the same brake bias but you would have to push the pedal harder on the 30/30 to get the same resulting line pressure.

Sorry for the Cross Post but to hopefully get an answer on this...

The proportioning valve on my 93 Civic LX started leaking so I replaced it with one from the junkyard. I bled and bled and bled. Still a sense of soft pedal feel.

Started checking and my original valve on my 93 Civic LX was a 3040. One from the junkyard from a 92-25 DX hatch was 3030.

Why does the 93 LX carry a 3040?

Also, I started checking on Hondapartsnow.com and I noticed that....get this...92-95 DX LX Automatic is listed as
46210-SR3-013
BUT Get this Manual Transmission is 46210-SR3-962.

What possibly could be the difference between these two parts?

My only clue is the service recommendation for pedal height. 92-95 Civic and Del Sol Automatic is 6.5 Inches. 92-25 Civic and Del Sol Manual is 6.3 inches.
