Default What's a fair price to repleace factory leather seats?

The front seats on my '97 Accord EX are cracking and have a whole bunch of rips on them. I would like to replace the leather with the same color and maybe a cheaper leather; I am not looking for nothing fancy. What's a fair price to do this? I called Katzskin and they said their kits will not work on cars that came from the factory with leather. If this turns out to be expensive, I just might buy racing seats.

All your inpur is apprecitated, thanks.

I know a guy that sells oem-like leather skin for most of the import(i am sure they have one for 5th gen acc), runs about 300 dollar but it's well worth it.

I installed it at my garage almost 3 years ago and it still looks new.

I konw some people who bought from http://leatherseats.com/ and said the quality was really good and also fairly easy to do it yourself.

Looks nice but a little bit on the pricey side. Id settle for $300 as opposed to twice that much if possible....

I just got off the phone with leatherseats.com. The customer service representative said that if the car came from the factory with leather, their kits will not work. I would have to send them my leather so they can have a templeta to make the new ones.

I guess my only options now is either to find a wreck accord with leather or pay some one to do this; I was quoted $950 which I think is a lot. Any suggestions on reasonable priced racing seats?

Did they mention why their kit wouldn't work if your car came with factory leather??

This is what the customer service representative wrote back to me:

"Dear Customer,

Unfortunately, just like most of the companies out there we patterned from the original cloth seat covers and our pattern will not work for replacing original leather. We rarely get requests for this particular setup anymore, but I checked and our patterning dept is willing to pattern the interior for you. However, you would have to remove and send in your factory leather seat covers in order for us to make the pattern and the new interior covers. Let me know if this is an option."
