If I sold my R for a Supra...
Do you think I would regret it? Why? I'm looking for honest imput here, so no flames please. I love my ITR. It handles awesome and has top end power. But the fit and finish of the supra seems to be superior, I've heard it handles well (never driven one myself), and rear wheel power is a plus. What do you guys think?
i think its a good idea if you can find one with low mileage and unmodified(which is really hard to find).
why auto?

Well, I understand how you feel.
I've been thinking about selling my ITR for something more practical though...WRX, Lancer EVO or STi (when they come). I feel that ITRs are big time theft magnets anymore and that really upsets me.
I *thought* about buying a '94+ Supra TT when I was shopping for my ITR. I just didn't want a USED turbo car with 40k or so miles on it and end up spending $24k+ for it. I decided on the ITR for a number of reasons...
- Handling/nimbleness
- NEW car...1st owner...warranty, blah blah

YD I love your avatar...I took a break from GTA3 to post here...
Dr. Shitface, I think you would probably regret it. AT Supras are still fast and are actually better for drag, but automatic trannies are just not as involving...and the Supra is a BIG car, make no mistake. The ITR is more practical, better on gas, and better on insurance....easier on your wallet in general. And just not as unique as the ITR. but if you are a drag-only kinda guy, I can understand this purchase.

Naw, I'm not a drag only guy, but to have that much power on hand would be cool. The ITR is SO much fun to drive. I think I would miss the scream that 8500 rpms brings. I'm gona think on it...
Hey Ross, why didn't you pic a name I could make fun of? Life is unfair..

I have yet to drive an ITR DAMMIT
. Yellow Dragon, YOU GOTTA LET ME DRIVE YOURS, JK
!! However my friend, Joey has a Supra TT manual and it is amazing!! That thing is so much fun to drive. It handles as good if not better than the e36 m3 that i drove.
However, my suspension upgrades on the SI makes it one of the most fun cars ive ever driven.
Why are they not as unique as an ITR?? Supras are hard to come by, especially TT's. I know here in Omaha, ive seen just as few Supras as ITR's. I would still say its a hard choice, because of the whole money deal. As YD said $24,000 is a lot to spend on a used car with lots of miles. I'd say wait for the MITSUBISHI EVO 7 or just keep the ITR, hell i want one really bad but insurance may hold me back from getting one, they are amazing machines, you may regret it.

I've only had mine for about a month, but haven't been able to play it as much as I've wanted to.
workWell...the Supra is a great car, but it seems as impractical as the ITR in some regards. The ITR will be more dependable IMO (remember that USED turbo cars could have issues if the car wasn't taken care of very well) Turbo = hot. Some fools race around their turbo cars, then park without letting the turbo cool off (ala the need of a turbo timer or just letting your car idle for a little bit).
Good luck with your decision.

But I wouldn't touch an automatic trannied car with a 10 foot pole. That's just me.

why would someone go from 1yr old car to a 7yr old car? I can understand if its still in production mode for North America Market and its a updated model like the JDM ones.
Have you ever driven a Supra.....they have a big front end. Most TT's are Auto's, their is a girl at school that has one. She loves it! Depends on your tastes in cars, Supra is a different machine all together, Weight/Power/Drivetrain/ex. Good luck with your choice/search.
I still would love a Supra. It has the best motor in recent memory in any car and the 6 speed is excellent. Of course the new Skyline R35 looks incredible and they say they are bringing it over. Best start saving up now and let's hope they leave the RB26 motor in there. It would be aweful if they put in a V8 instead.
