help... d16z6 swap in CRX... p28 ecu problems with BAR
I'm having a problem going through the CA Smog Ref. Strangely he doesn't have any information on the p28 ecu my swap uses. (This is a d16z6 in a CRX, converted to obd1)
The serial on my ecu is 37820-P28-A02
Ref only has information about the 37820-P28-A01
Honda dealership sucks and is asking for $65 to verify my ecu. I'd rather not pay that money only to find out that it's a JDM ecu
Can anyone tell me if this is a CA smog ecu and help me get this information from Honda? Has anyone had the P28-A02 verified by Honda before that would be willing to share the love?

I did a search over at http://www.slhondaparts.com (since they show the actual Honda part numbers) and from what I could see, the part number:
37820-P28-A02
shows up for the 94-95 EX and Si models, while the
37820-P28-A01
shows up for 92-93.
Maybe it changed to the A02 in 1994?
Just go to the dealer and tell them you need to find out how much a new ECU is for a 95 EX, then ask them if they cant print out the "invoice" with that part number and price on there. I can't believe they want to charge you $65 for that!

WHY would u want to reff a sohc??
i passed smog with a y8 and a z6 at TEST ONLY smog centers, they dont care, neither do cops if u have the valve cover that doesnt say vtec
, but even when it says vtec they mostly dont say anything...

Mine SOHC doesn't say VTEC anywhere on it and every smog station I went to noticed the VTEC solenoid and wouldn't smog my car with out a ref placard. There are too many modded vehicles in the bay area I guess.

for a useful response. Definitely have them print up the 94-95 "invoice" and the 92-93 one. The dealership does it free of charge.
What does an automatic P28 read?

Automatics:
92-93 end with -A51
94-95 end with -A52
He's just got a 94-95 EX/Si 5spd ECU.
