Default Steering column making fart noise?

What the heck is this? It sounds like a high-pitched fart noise coming from somewhere around the steering wheel column. It happens while I'm turning the wheel back to the straight position from a hard turn. Any ideas?

LMAO...mine does that too. It seems like the plastic piece on the column is being rubbed on by the rear part of the steering wheel.

One fart going right, and one more fart returning back to the straight position.

i think a lot of cars do that. my jeep did it to but only when it is cold maybe that is the case for yours. I would check to see if anything is rubbing and maybe try some wd40 or something.

Yeah.....my Helms manual for 96-98 Civic Lubrication chart lists a lube point #22 Back of steering wheel / use Multi-purpose grease. It does not pinpoint where.
Or did I miss something ?

Mine was making a creaking or "farting" noise when I turned the wheel to full extend. It was my clockspring going bad. I no longer have a functional airbag.
