looks-16, weight (in some cases)-15
also keep in mind that your cars brakeing system is designed to stop a certain size rime. so keep that in mind as well.

As well as the gearing. So if you don't get the correct tire size the speedometer will be off.

There is no real "best" choice for rim size. Obviously, people are going to put on whatever they want. Some important factors to keep in mind have already been stated. Go with what you want, of course your brakes and gears were meant for one thing. Also, keep things like weight in mind.

I agree.
I agree.
What's the "best" wheel size? "Best" for what? Cheap tires? Light weight? Straight line acceleration? Autocrossing? IT racing? Boulevard pimping y0?
I could easily say 13x9 is the "best" wheel size (and it is, actually
), but without telling you what it is "best" for, does it really mean anything?
15s are very common on Civics; they're universal because there is a large selection of affordable performance tires in 15" sizes for Civics. There is also a huge selection of affordable (and not-so-affordable) good-looking wheels available in 15x6.5" and 15x7" with the 4x100mm bolt pattern and the proper offset. There are also several good-looking OEM Honda 15x6" wheels that are popular as well.

btw, im not suggesting 17's, im just clarifying that it is tire size, not rim size that effects the speedo and gearing.

i would say that either rim will be fine, ill try to list the pros of each (altho thruout this thread it seems people have started it. i think as long as its tasteful and the tire size resembles the approximate size for stock (to keep the speedo accurate)
with 15s the wheel is generally going to be lighter, and tires are cheaper for them.
with 16s u get a nice big wheel, and you still wont have to go with rubber band tires if you choose. i tend to think that the 16" wheels are better looking in general, but thats just my opinion.

if you get 16's your speedo wont be off, if it is its barely noticable. my 16's w/ a 40 sidewall are a hair smaller than stock.
so 16 w/ a 45 side wall should work.
15's are nice too, i almost traded for some.

I would say 15's....
My friend has a 4dr civic vti and usually runs 17's.... when he sent his rims off to get refurbished he borrowed a set of 15's from me and the differance was instantly noticable - better handling, faster off the mark, quicker through the gears etc! only downside is that his car is very low and with the 15's on it caused him a few problems with speed bumps and poor condition roads....
16's are a good compromise if you want looks as well as handling - but in the end the decision is yours as it is your car and your cash!
