Type R swap on a Civic.
I am thinking about doing a Type R 5 lug swap on a slightly older EX. just curious to see what im looking at spending and how hard of a conversion this is.
thanks
thanks
like '96 up EX. I figured for racing purposes the 5 luge conversion with the type R components would be better suited for racing , as well as having rear brakes . Don't the Ex's come with drum's?
thanks

Yes they do, you could do a rear disc coversion though too. MUCH cheaper. The 5 lug can run upwards of $1,000

CTR 5-lug bolts right on
^ + matching CTR shocks/springs
Integra brake lines
wheels
tires
lugnuts
totaled ~$2,000
Add another 300 for daily driving wheels/tires.

Disc brakes wont stop you any faster in the rear. You're traction limited by your tires anyways.
And if you want to race ECHC, you cant do this - I still stay stick with a 92-95 ex coupe.

too late, he bought a *** car...
on topic:
no sense in going 5-lug and no sense in upgrading your drums (unless they are shot). get some nice pads and good fluid and you're good to go.
