OOps spelled finally wrong LOL....that's how happy i am!
Well today my car is going into the shop and is going to get a breath of life over the next couple days. She's been down for the count for almost 7 months now and my left leg is twitching after driving an automatic for so long.
But yeah I am super stoked about it. Hopefully I won't run into any more suprise problems like I did while getting the car rolling.
Those dumbass thieves really do have a way of ******* things up that normal people couldn't **** up. Push in plastic clips they pryed out with a screwdriver and broke, lines that they could have unbolted they cut. Random *** bolts they did not need to take out were removed and or stripped. They cut a whole bunch of ecu wiring for what I'll never know.
But all in all today is looking to be the best day I've had in a while in regards to the R. And as everyone knows this will no longer be a daily driven pimpmobile. I have to make sacrifices to make sure I keep it safe. Besides I'd like to enjoy the car without worrying about it. So that means track only since I got the Kompressor
It's really sad that a lot of us have to do this just because of thieves, but I can't take another loss like I did back in June. It really hurt my wallet and my heart big time even though insurance paid me for the value of the car minus parts. The time I spent building the car was way more important than all the material stuff on it and in it. It sucks just knowing that someone else has driven your car that you do not know. You don't know what they did to it, how they crashed it, how hard they drove it.....etc. But I guess the only thing I can do is make the car better because I could not stand anyone else owning it.
But when I get the car back I'm gonna have some "**** THIEVES" stickers covering the damaged parts of the car so that they don't rust LOL. So when thieves see it on the trailor they'll know they ain't touching this one again

I think grand theft auto convictions should include the loss of one ********. The partial castration should be performed with garden shears by the victim of the crime. If the thief is a female - they lose an ovary.
That would stop things quickly.
2 ***** and you're out.
Congrats on getting her back on the road.

So what's it going into the shop for? Body work? Engine work?

Things on the TO DO list
1) clutch/flywheel/possible ATS fd install while motor is out/toda timing belt
2) install motor
3) compresssion test
4) change of all fluids
5) new oil and fuel filter/plugs/dis cap and rotor
6) redo abs sensor wiring/stainless lines
7) redo front lower knuckle ball joints
8) completely remove damaged ac and lines
9) check alternator
10) install lots of extra goodies
Anything else I forgot? I need your guys help in finding what else to check since they obviously drove the car hard? I don't know what else they could have messed up besides the tranny and motor.
No body work is scheduled because I am going to be broke for a while after this. But my body man still owes me a partial repaint for my bumper, fender, and possible door. But the quarter panel and hatch lid won't be fixed most likely.

No doubt, i'm sure you've heard that thieves are going into garages now-a-days. Anyways, i'm glad you kept it. It is a nice looking Type-R! Make sure you keep a journal with pics of the build-up so we can all see it....

The pics of what it looked like after beign stolen are floating around in one of my threads. It was not as bad as most find their cars, but mine was recovered from the person's garage before it was totally stripped. So I am lucky. And there will be pics after the car is done. I'm taking pics of all the steps.
I just dont want anyone knowing where the car is being built until it is done to protect myself. But it will be a beast. It won't make the most power, but it will be well-balanced and well built that's for sure.
Are there any other non-security precautionary measures I need to do? Water pump? anything?

And if they get into my garage, they will have too much to worry about to want to take my car

All the major tune up stuff, 4 wheel alignment.
BTW, hope you make good use of the rotors and pads

99% of the people I asked for advice told me to sell everything I had and move on. But damn it I am the most stubborn guy I know.
So now my ITR is going to be insane. And the motor still has not been opened once. All bolt ons and tranny/suspension/safety goodies.
