Hood pins!
I was hoping someone could tell me the proper way to install sparco hood pins. I just got some and there are no instrucitons. I know that i could put them on conceivibly but i don't want to f up my hood and want them to be as tight as possible. If there is a diagram or something, the reason i ask is that tehre is a good amout of screws and bolts that i don't know what order to put them on and also if all of the sparco hardware is ss or should i buy other stuff. I emailed sparco but ofcourse there has been no reply. So can someplease help me!! and also should i put them on before i get my cf hood clearcoated or after?
anyone put them on their car or could tell what i need to do with all of the screws and nuts that with it...like what order it all goes on wheres the best place to put them and such?
Not brain surgery, place on hood, align, dremel a whole. align hood pins, align. drill, align. bolt, place hood pins, screw with little screws, align, and align. That's it.
i think i know exactly what you are saying i guess i wanted something i alitle more visual, i guess i didn't want to just kind of guess where to align, someone said use paint on the post and touch the hood with it then drill there. Now do you have to drill to put the posts into the rad support or what i haven't looked in a few days i can't remember and what about the little metal pieces with the wholes where do they go and do you just put a nut on either side of the post like one on top and one underneath?

I don't see why you would need paint then. I assumed you had a stock hood b/c of the paint comment which is usually put on to prevent rust. If you haven't done it before, I don't suggest you start doing it now. Seeing as you can really fu-bar **** up. But if you have ***** just drill the radiator support, mark on the underside of the hood where the pin touched, drill through the hood, and put on the top part.

ok so you see my point as to why i need some instructions and as to the paint thing it was that i had seen someones hood and he put pins and the gel coat cracked but it will be the best iea to get it cleared afteri put the pins on. You know where i could get some instructions at all or someone i should ask?

yeah that is actually exactly where i found a good write up but thanks for the bump. I think i def can be done quite easily i guess im still wondering what to do about the washers that come with the kit and stuff i must need to use them if they came with so thats what else i was wondering
none of the how to's show what to do with the washers and screw bases so if someone has a clue as to where do they go or are they just some extra bits to mess you up?
