Out of pure and innocent curiosity, why do you think they are not worth having?

10 years ago when I bought a set of Spoons F & R tie bar for my Delsol,
I didn't know front bar can make the car understeer if set up wrong.
I installed it on a lift and stupid me tighten the bar's end fitting by pre loading it in the air. When the car is on the ground, it was over preload and every slow corner I took,
it understeer like crazy. Finally I realized that I have to loosen the end fitting and then rock the suspension to make it settle on the ground and then finally lock up the
end fitting. Now the Front is nice and solid thru turns.
OF course this in experience in a Delsol so the bars were very effective.
In our solid R's, I don't know it will have big benefit.

If you want, a lesser thought of idea is the to Z10 bar. With the radius rods tightened correctly my teg had an UNBELIEVEABLE feel with the front feeling so much more stable than ever. The turn in was amazing and understeer was reduced a strangely large amount over before. It is awesome since it clears everything and ties each side of the unibody together outside of the core. Putting that stiff feeling to the one part of the DC2 chassis that is lacking it. IMHO

the bar on my car is an OE item, it is an like a wide 'n' shape (sort of like this _/''''''''\_ ) and sits above the header pipe (and no i'm not talking about the front sway/anti-roll bar) This is a aluminium round bar with flattened ends (like the rear bar) I will try and get a photo of it, but you can only see the end of it by looking down the timing belt side of the engine...you have to physically look for it when underneath the car, as its not readily noticeable.

Yeah, JDM Type R's do come with a front tie bar, sorry bout the **** pic, but heres basically what it looks like,
Its the Black bar, its sortov a _/''''''''\_ like mugen racer said

And this..

Is fron the top looking down past the intake manifold. The two bolts next to each other like this.. O O is the tie bar. Also like mugenracer said
Hope that helps.

I think the bar you are all looking for is upfront by the radiator, but it is only on the JDM R.
It's not exactly a tie-bar IIRC, being as it doesn't really connect the front suspension components.. just pieces of the chassis, it's similar to our in-trunk bar.
I believe it is shown on the Best Motoring Type R DVD.
