hey guys i have a built ls in a 90 hatch. i have an msd ignition and coil and a chipped pr4 ecu. the car will start run and idle fine but if i want to rev the motor it just wont do it. the msd is hooked up correctly and i went through the wiring and EVERYTHING several times. now last night i went to start the car up and it started fine, i let it run for a couple of seconds then tried to rev it. it got up to a couple thousand rpms and died. now it wont start it just turns over. also now i cant hear the fuel pump prime but that may only because the lines are full. i have heard it could be the main relay, anyone agree? would that solve the revving problem? please any suggestions at all would help. and yes the throttle body is opening all the way.

When did it start doing this?

After you installed the ignition components?

i just recently put the motor in and the msd was installed with the motor before it had ever run. timing is fine as far as i know.

 

replace your main relay to begin with. If your using a b18b, you might want to check and see if you have the MAP and TPS plugs backwards. That will cause your car to idle fine but wont rev past 1500-2000 rpm. If you are using the b18a make sure you have the MAP vacuum hose running to the top of the TB.

yea but i havent checked what it or they are. i am so over this car it has been nothin but a headache. one thing constantly leads to another.

 

My CRX did the same and my timing was way off. might want to check that out

 

deff take a timing light to it.

 

alright cool but i have an aftermarket underdrive pulley with no timing marks so i gotta take the plugs out and find TDC etc. correct.?.? any other ideas?

anyone have any ideas why the car wont start now etc besides the main relay
