I have a friend with a wrecked 03' Accord V-6 4door (EX, I think). Interior is in great shape, motor runs with auto trans. I'm thinking about buying it from him to put together another car.

I'm wondering what my options are as far as compatability of that engine in other year accords? and if it will easily drop into any other models, prelude maybe? or maybe and acura of somekind? any other options will greatly increase my chances of finding a suitable car to start with. preferably something that either has a blown motor, or maybe even had been stolen and stripped or vandalized?

its going to be hard as hell and will involve a ton of custom fabrication

 

I dont want to do any custom fabrication. So then the only cars that it will likely drop right into, would be other 03-06 accords?

does anyone know if the 00-02 accords would take the v6 out of the 03? i kind of prefer the 02 2 door ex body the best.

 

your best bet would be getting the 4cly model 02ex, and swap in an H22a, and then get a power adder

 

do you know of any online resources that will tell me what engines came in which cars, and possibly which ones will fit in others? I've seen things like this in the past for CRX's but don't know where to look for accords?

would be nice if it told me what all these engine codes mean too. h22a? what code would a v6 out of an 03 accord be?

the current 7th gen of accord is totally redesign. so nothing from the past will bolt right up, you'll need crap loads of custom mounts for sure.

Dont know about the new v6's but the k series is generally taller than f/h/b series.

If you thinking of a straight in and out swap, dont think it's a good choice here
